The 4th International Conference on Mechatronics and Smart Systems (CONF-MSS 2026) was a hybrid conference which includes several symposium series around the world. Dr. Xinqing Xiao from China Agricultural University, Dr. Muhammad Adil Ansari from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science, and Technology, and Dr. Mustafa Istanbullu from Çukurova University have chaired these symposium series on related topics. CONF-MSS 2026 provided the participants with good opportunities to exchange ideas and build networks, and it will lead to further collaborations between both universities and other societies.
Symposium Chairs: Dr. Xinqing Xiao, Associate Professor in China Agricultural University
This symposium, Mechanical Control and Automation, was successfully held on April 15, 2026 at the College of Engineering, China Agricultural University chaired by Assoc. Professor Xinqing Xiao. The 10 students and 8 international researchers attending the symposium were mainly doctor, master and international students from the discipline of mechanical and electronic engineering and agriculture engineering, accounting at China Agricultural University. The symposium showcased some of the latest research conducted in the area of mechatronics control and automation systems and applications in agriculture as well as overlaps between the two subjects. Some of the topics discussed including examination of mechatronics control and automation systems, the application in food or fruit monitoring and the development trends in future. The symposium has also discussed the possible application in animal breeding, such as aquaculture, live sheep breeding and transportation, etc., by using the mechatronics control and automation.

Symposium Chair: Dr. Muhammad Adil Ansari, Professor in the Department of Electronic Engineering at Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science, and Technology
This symposium provides an engaging introduction to Electronics Engineering and Industrial Automation and explains how industries are transforming from manual operations to intelligent, connected, and automated systems. The session was centered around the practical framework of Sense, Decide, and Act, which helps participants understand how automation systems collect information, process data, and perform actions with minimal human intervention.
The symposium discussed the role of sensors, IoT, industrial controllers, and actuators in modern automation systems and demonstrates how electronic machines communicate and share data in real time. It also introduced both rule-based and AI-based decision-making approaches, highlighting how modern industries are moving toward smarter and more adaptive automation. Through simple explanations, industrial examples, and interactive activities, participants gain a clear understanding of how electronics engineering and automation technologies are applied in real-world environments.
Overall, the symposium presented an impactful overview of how automation, connectivity, and intelligent systems are shaping the future of modern industry and smart manufacturing. The students of Electronics Department at Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science and Technology, Nawabshah actively participated in the symposium. It went a highly engaging and insightful symposium in the sense that the students could interact and engage in critical questions and arguments which proved to be useful for their academic growth and excellence.

Symposium Chair: Dr. Mustafa Istanbullu, Assistant Professor in Çukurova University
Flexible electronics have emerged as a transformative technology enabling next-generation biomedical sensors that conform to soft biological tissues. Among flexible substrate materials, polyimide stands out due to its excellent thermal stability, mechanical flexibility, chemical resistance, and compatibility with microfabrication processes. Recent advances in polymer chemistry and composite engineering have enabled the integration of conductive fillers, nanomaterials, and biocompatible coatings into polyimide matrices, resulting in multifunctional composite platforms. These developments support applications ranging from wearable health monitors to implantable biosensors and soft bioelectronic interfaces. The convergence of composite materials science and flexible electronics is opening new pathways for reliable, lightweight, and cost-effective biomedical sensing technologies.
The online session of the 4th International Conference on Mechatronics and Smart Systems (CONF-MSS 2026) was held on June 19, 2026. Dr. Muhammad Adil Ansari from the Department of Electronic Engineering at Quaid-e-Awam University of Engineering, Science, and Technology, Dr. Mustafa Istanbullu from Çukurova University, and Dr. Marwan Omar from Illinois Institute of Technology have given keynote speech on related topics of mechanics, electronics, and smart systems. Also, we invited authors of qualified papers to deliver oral presentations at the online session. Authors have presented their studies of mechanics, electronics, and smart systems, etc. Questions from the audience were collected and answered by the presenters.
